A group of participants and staff from Mercy Connect enjoyed their annual trip to Winton Raceway which included a special twist this year.
On Friday 18th May, the group headed down to Winton to catch all the action as the Supercars held one of their championship rounds at the local track.
Daniel, Peter, David, Robbie and Mark alongside DSW John and Team Leader Estella enjoyed a pit garage tour of local team Brad Jones Racing, where BJR employee Yarrive took the team around the garage and explained how each of the race cars work and explained the difference in wet and dry tyres in the tyre tent.
The guys also got to meet and take photos with most of the Supercar drivers which they enjoyed.
There was a range of different support categories over the weekend including Kuhmo, Touring car masters and the Super Utes. They were able to watch their favourite drivers go out and practise in their cars.
The day before they headed to Winton, Estella took a few of the participants to Bottle-O Elgin’s Boulevard to meet and greet with Mark Winterbottom. The funny thing was that Estella had told the guys they were meeting with Jamie Whincup so when they got to the venue they were quite surprised to see another driver who drove a Ford!
This year Winton Raceway sold out over 700 campsites, in which the guys hope to camp for the weekend next year!
