It is with great sadness that I inform you all that Kevin Post passed away peacefully on Sunday, 5 January.
Kevin transitioned to Mercy Connect services (formerly Mercy Centre) in January 2003 and lived at Marrang and Pine House before relocating to Oak House in 2016.
Throughout this time he consistently received compassionate and loyal support from our staff, both at his home and at the Learning Centre.
Our thoughts are with his family and everyone who has worked closely with Kevin.
Losing someone we have cared for over a such a long period of time will impact each of us in different ways, and at different times. Nonetheless, it is essential we continue to support each other during this time, and reflect on all the special moments that were shared with Kevin during his life.
The Venerable Catherine McAuley drew great strength from her faith during such times of suffering and weariness, nothing that “God never calls any person to any state, or for any end, without giving the means and necessary help to carry them through all the difficulties of it”.
For anyone experiencing ongoing feelings of loss and grief, please continue to speak with your support networks, peers, team leader or managers. Mercy Connect also has AccessEAP (our dedicated employee assistance program) available to any staff who may wish to seek individual support. Tel: 1800 818728 or www.accesseap.com.au.
Details of Kevin’s funeral and memorial will be shared with staff once we have received formal confirmation of same.
