Footy fans head to the MCG

In the early hours of Saturday 4 August, Mercy Connect participants headed down the Hume Highway to Melbourne to watch an afternoon of football at the MCG.

Mark, Dan, Peter and the Team Leader Estella are keen Essendon supporters with Robbie being a St. Kilda fan but chose to support Essendon on the day as well.

This is the first football game that the guys have attended this AFL season. Mark is a one-eyed Bombers supporter, he couldn’t get enough of the atmosphere and was cheering very loudly throughout the match.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t the Bombers day with the team going down to the Hawks by just 4 points (16.11.107 – 16.7.103). Even with the result, they all had a great day and enjoyed their time at the footy.

It was a long drive home for the group who stopped at McDonalds for dinner before arriving back home around 9pm on Saturday night.
