Our Positive Behaviour Support services aim to help people with a disability lead a meaningful life. We do this by helping people to use appropriate ways to communicate, make choices and participate in their community.

This service is also available as a consultancy, assessment and intervention service to other disability providers.

What we do

We work with individuals, families, and carers to understand behaviour as a way of communicating and to develop strategies to reduce behaviours that others might find challenging.

To do this, we use Positive Behaviour Support Approaches to work collaboratively with you and your support networks.

What is Positive Behaviour Support?

A Positive Behaviour Support approach understands that all challenging behaviour has a purpose. It is a comprehensive approach to assessment and intervention that focuses on your needs, your environment and aims to improve your overall quality of life.

What we can offer:

  • Development of person-centred support plans
  • Restricted Practice Authorisation Advice
  • A range of training and workshops to build the skills and capacity of the person, their families, carers as well as staff and management teams.

What funding can I access to use these services?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will use the following terms to describe the funding that can be used to acquire Mercy Connect Person Centred Behaviour Support services:

  • Improved relationships
  • Improved daily living skills

We provide the necessary supports to ensure you can identify funding and services you are entitled to.

Who can I contact for more information?
